Working Conditions and Work Engagement by Gender and Digital Work Intensity

Telework and other flexible working arrangements, which have exponentially expanded with new advancements in digitalization the impact of COVID-19, are modifying conditions workers’ engagement. Using ‘job demands-resources’ model, we applied multivariate techniques to examine different ways telework intensity impacts by gender. Increased remote was positively associated better skills discretion work engagement, while it negatively dimensions job quality (particularly time quality). Even though women usually score higher than men or quality, high intense female teleworkers experience a downturn respect these two items. Low medium intensities teleworking were discretion, improved physical environment, especially prospects earnings. In conclusion, gender affect engagement degrees, highlighting importance including multiple effects on design arrangements.
